Working Abroad: Belgium.

If you are considering working in Europe but are finding it difficult to decide where, why not consider Belgium?!








Living in Belgium you will get the opportunity to practice your Dutch and French, with approximately 60% speaking Dutch and 40% speaking French.





Belgium is also famous for its beer, chocolate and waffles!





Sports such as football, tennis, cycling and swimming are very popular in Belgium. So there is plenty opportunity for sports physiotherapists!







The Belgian health care is delivered mainly by a private system of independent medical practitioners and hospitals. Health Insurance is compulsory.








Registration: 
In order to register to work in Belgium you must submit your documents to the Belgian federal health service. A list of these documents can be found by clicking the link below:
Recognition of physiotherapy qualification.

Once you have submitted your documents you should receive:

  • Receipt of application- within 1 month.
  • A decision on your application- up to 4 months.

Advantages for Irish physiotherapists are:

  • It is one of the only EU countries with no registration fee.
  • You can make your application through English.
