Working in Ireland

Let’s not forget that there are still some jobs here at home!

Once we receive our final exam transcripts we can register with the ISCP as full members for the first time.

Registration with the ISCP for UCD graduates costs €270 and if you registered as an undergraduate member the registration fee of €40 is waived.

You can download the forms and get more information here : ISCP Registration

Irish Hospitals

While there are fewer jobs than before there are still some opportunities for graduates in Irish Hospitals.

Check out these website for any jobs advertised by the HSE.

Don’t forget to keep in touch with the Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy manager from the teaching hospitals. They may keep you in mind and let you know if a job comes up.

Physio Assistant

Many hospitals also take on Physio Assistants which would give you a chance to get some experience in the area.

Harolds Cross, Loughlinstown , NRH  and others have taken on newly graduates in Physio assistant roles. Keep an eye on the careers section of the websites or else contact the hospitals directly.

Nursing Homes

Nursing homes offer a great source of potential employment and with an aging population this is an area that will continue to grow.

Many of the larger nursing homes already have a physiotherapy service in place but many smaller ones and even some of the big ones won't be offering the service. Drop in your CV and let them know what we can offer them and you might be lucky!

Check out this interview with a Physiotherapist working in an Irish nursing home for an idea of what to expect.  Working in Nursing Homes in Ireland

Public nursing homes will advertise on the sites listed above. Check out some of the other job sites to see any jobs advertised in Private nursing homes.
